Seal point cruise - 5\6 March 2005
The following yachts joined us on our cruise in
March:
Just about - Trevor & Vicki
She's boss - Luke & Robyn
Free Wheeler - Derek & wife
Asha - John, Christine & Cathy
Stress - Roland, Karen & Patricia
Windfall - Erwee & wife
Mystic - Jim & Jean
Tulloch - Simon, Sheryl, Spencer & Matthew
We left LDYC +- 10am in a comfortable sailing
breeze heading for Rose bay for lunch. We rounded Beacon Isle & met Erwee &
his wife from Anchor Creek. Everybody enjoyed independant sailing to Rose
bay followed by a raft up lunch that lasted +- 2 hours. Due to the Hunter 28
being the envy of the cruising fleet, Simon challenged them to make their
own anchorage to test their cruising skills - well done you two! Jim & Jean
also made independant anchorage - shall we say - practice makes perfect you
two! Pub crawling from yacht to yacht was enjoyed by most male cruisers,
while ladies made lunch, snoozed, swam or suntanned.
After this relaxing time in Rose bay we sailed
to Seal Point yacht club\ Manten Marina for a comfortable night on walk on
moorings. We had a group reservation at the "Flying saucer restaurant" for
dinner which was successfully organised by the staff. Wolfgang & Sabine
joined us for dinner - perhaps they will sail next time! Thanks to the staff
the food was great, service was slow, pub quenched thirsts & we will
be back!
Everyone slept warmly, comfortably & enjoyed a
"Flying saucer" breakfast before sailing the short distance in a strong
breeze back to LDYC. As usual, many thanks to all who joined us. We look
forward to the next cruise after the AGM.
Best wishes & good wind to all,
Simon & Sheryl Fisher.
