The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) has hampers up for grabs throughout the weekend. Listen out for the questions to answer and drop your entry into Competition Box on the SAMSA Information Table.
Visit the SAMSA table in the Clubhouse for information regarding safety and boat compliance issues.
On the foreshore you will probably notice a 30m2 screen plus 6 screens mounted in the clubhouse and veranda which will be feeding live footage of the racing action on the water.

LDYC Round The Island Race Regatta 2013
To ensure your stay is enjoyable, safe and trouble free we request your co-operation in complying with the following rules
1.For security reasons wristbands will be issued to all members and visitors entering the property. At no time must these be removed. Any person over 18 years of age not wearing one will immediately be required to re-purchase one at a cost of R70 or vacate the property. These are available from Ticket Sales in the Clubhouse.
2.Secure and lock your car, caravan, camping site and valuables at all times.
3.No pets are allowed within the grounds.
4.Only drivers with a valid driver’s licence are permitted to drive any form of motorised vehicle, excluding quad bikes, on the property. Maximum speed is 10 km per hour.
Only LDYC officials and authorized members are permitted to drive quad bikes.
5.The Clubhouse is a licensed building in terms of the Liquor Act. Only liquor purchased from the Club bars may be consumed on the clubhouse premises.
6.Yachts have priority use of the slipway in the harbor. The adjoining long deep-water jetty is for the use of yachts only. The adjacent jetty to the west of the main jetty is for the use of powerboats. Powerboats may be also be launched from the old eastern slipway.
7.Due to the high water level of the dam, all trailers & vehicles must be removed after offloading and launching, to the demarcated parking area.
8.No yachts or powerboats may be left unattended at any time on the jetties. All tenders and powerboats not in use must be beached or removed from the water.
9.The entire Club anchorage is a no-wake zone. No ski-ing is permitted within this area. All craft may not exceed a speed of 5 knots/10 km per hour.
10.Swimming in the dam on the foreshore is prohibited.
11.Rules on and off the water must be obeyed at all times.
13.Please no littering: all vehicles entering the club are issued with black refuse bags and waste bins are placed at strategic points.
14.Washing of dishes, utensils and laundry is not permitted in the ablutions. Sinks for these purposes are in the scullery at the west end of the ladies’ ablutions.
15.Camping is only permitted in designated camping areas as indicated by signage.
16.Absolutely no fishing.
17.Fires in the camping areas must be monitored at all times and may only be lit in a suitable portable braai.
18.Parents or accompanying adults are fully responsible for their children. All children under 16 years of age must wear life-jackets on or near the water.
19.No alcohol or glass is allowed in the swimming pool area.
20.Please obey all regulatory signs within the club grounds and use club facilities responsibly.
21.Theft of or damage to club property is a criminal offence and offenders will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
22.Disregard for club rules will result in expulsion of the guilty party.
23.Persons using LDYC Club facilities do so entirely at their own risk. LDYC accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or injury arising from any cause whatsoever.
