LDYC Summer cruise - 15 / 16 October 2005
The following members joined us on our cruise this month:
Arnold, Eleanor & friends on their powerboat - Thundacat
Billy & Jean on their powerboat - Bertha
Jimmy, Jean, Bill & Annette on Stadt 26 - Mystic
Roland & Karan on their powerboat
Derrick on his L26 - Freewheeler
Simon, Sheryl, Spencer & Jacques on Holiday 23 - Tulloch
All LDYC powerboat and yacht owners were invited to join
the Summer cruise. Saturday morning was cloudy, gloomy and grey so the start
of the cruise was postponed by an hour. Each group of cruisers set off in
their own time going to Rose Bay for raft up lunch. The wind was
non-existent at times and the clouds cleared for a beautiful summer's day.
For the powerboats the destination was easily reached but the yachts had to
motorsail to get to Rose Bay.
Lunchtime was relaxed, jovial and entertaining. Some
cruisers went for a swim, others had a sit down lunch aboard Mystic and
still others made fruit salad on Thundacat.
We returned to LDYC for a bring and braai supper with pap
and sauce being provided by LDYC kitchen - thanks it was great! We enjoyed
using our own pub and braai facilities.
Breakfast was catered for by the LDYC kitchen and was
enjoyed by all.
We thank everyone who joined the cruise and look forward
to the next cruise - 17 / 18 December 2005.
